At a sell-out concert at St German's Parish Church on Friday 8th May 2009, Dame Emma Kirkby presented two East Cornwall Bach Choir scholarships. The new scholars, who receive free choir membership and top class singing lessons (more details), were Eleanor Boney and Oliver Doney Looking on are choir chair Gay Jones, and trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins. Crispian and Emma gave an outstanding performance of Bach's cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, while other works, performed with the choir and an orchestra of baroque instruments, were Bach's motet Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, his Orchestral Suite No 3 in D major, and the Magnificat in D
